Job Summary

The UCSF Thoracic Surgery and Oncology Clinic offers cutting-edge diagnosis and treatment for lung cancer and other conditions related to the lungs, chest, and esophagus.

Our multidisciplinary team of surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists works together to provide comprehensive care to each patient.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.

For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care as a Nurse Practitioner in Thoracic Surgery and Oncology.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with lung cancer and other thoracic conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide education to patients and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • One or more years of Nurse Practitioner experience in an inpatient or outpatient surgical specialty.
  • Preferred qualifications include one or more years of thoracic surgery or surgical oncology experience.
  • Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and a California driver's license (CDL) if required for the position.
  • Active and/or transferable DEA license to California and enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by the first clinical day.
  • Current AHA BLS and state regulation requires a supervising physician to practice.
