About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Healthcare Support Associate to join our team at UPMC East. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in healthcare and contribute to the well-being of our patients.

As a Healthcare Support Associate, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse, including activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, and ambulating patients. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, completing safety checks, and ensuring that departmental equipment is properly cleaned and organized. In addition, you will acquire and distribute supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care delivery, perform messenger functions, and deliver patient nourishments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care as directed by the RN, including ADLs and point-of-care testing
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment, completes safety checks, and ensures departmental equipment is properly cleaned and organized
  • Acquires and distributes supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care delivery
  • Delivers patient nourishments, fills water pitchers, and distributes patient mail

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of UPMC nursing assistant or EIC training program preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred

Salary Information

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
