Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Webb Pediatric Primary Care Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth registration and discharge of patients into our EPIC system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all components of patient registration/discharge into the EPIC system, including entering charges for services, data entry, and chart breakdowns.
  • Prepare daily cash deposits and maintain logs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answer telephones, and support nursing and counseling staff.
  • Verify and update patient demographics information and billing insurance information for new and existing patients.
  • Coordinate bed assignments, transfers, and discharges through various applications and maintain communications with inpatient nursing units and nursing supervisors.
  • Call insurance companies for treatment authorization and benefit information.
  • Maintain quality assurance scores of 98% or higher in conjunction with department expectations.
Requirements:
  • No experience required.
  • No High School Diploma and/or No GED Required.
  • Licenses: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Organization and Attention to detail.
  • Effective communication.
  • Ability to Problem Solve.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and determine priority.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional work behavior by following Denver Health guidelines/policies.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a high volume of tasks at one time.
  • Ability to enter data quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to complete daily work by the end of the shift.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to type 25 wpm.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Epic.
