BWX Technologies, a leading nuclear solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Welding Engineer to join its Advanced Technologies team in Lynchburg, VA.

This position offers a challenging opportunity to develop and support new automated and manual welding processes for the nuclear industry, utilizing laser, electron beam, GTAW, resistive, and GMAW technologies. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new additive manufacturing processes, as well as creating and updating manufacturing work instructions, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.

As a key member of our team, you will provide expertise and guidance on product material selection, perform metallurgical and mechanical evaluations of welds, and lead equipment design teams. Your strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external customers will be essential in this role.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science, along with a minimum of 4 years of welding or Additive Manufacturing engineering experience. Familiarity with ASME, AWS, and ASTM welding and material standards is also required. A strong understanding of fundamental metallurgy, OSHA health and safety knowledge specific to weld hazards and laser safety, and hands-on experience working in a shop environment are highly desirable.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $ $115,000 - $145,000 per year, depending on experience.
