Cognitive Performance Specialist

Chenega Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Cognitive Performance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing resiliency programs to support the behavioral health and readiness of our personnel.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, plan, and initiate resiliency programs to prevent and treat behavioral health issues.
  • Conduct psychological assessments and provide consultation to command personnel.
  • Manage process improvement, program validation, and research initiatives.
  • Develop and manage personnel selection records and filing systems.
  • Manage referrals and disposition of referrals for behavioral healthcare.
  • Provide professional development and awareness education to leadership and personnel.
  • Function as liaison between personnel and base/community helping professionals/agencies.
  • Support the assessment and selection of incoming personnel and provide feedback to unit leadership.
  • Provide technical expertise, consultation, and direct support in areas of assessment and selection, operational support, human performance enhancement, and clinical services.
  • Conduct baseline and post-event neuropsychological screening and collect/analyze data and monitor trends in psychological health.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Philosophy or Psychology in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited program.
  • Minimum two years of experience in the independent practice of psychology.
  • Possess and maintain a BLS certification.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with combat arms troops, experience within the military SOF community, NCAA, or professional sports.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience and training in the assessment and treatment of alcohol and substance abuse conditions, domestic violence, child abuse, post-traumatic stress, mood and anxiety conditions, and family/marital issues.
  • Possess training in critical incident/stress trauma interventions.
  • Ability to obtain SERE certification through the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency and keep current on all mission debriefings.
  • Experience working with physicians providing medical psychological services.
  • Experience in a Government setting such as a DoD or Department of Veterans Affairs Military Treatment Facility (MTF) Preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
