Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leasing Consultant to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. The Leasing Consultant acts as an initial ambassador between the public, the residents of the apartment community, and the community management team. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, have a positive personality, and a passion for ensuring the highest standards of professionalism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to community residents and internal team members.
  • Assess the needs of clients and provide solutions that meet the goals of the community and benefit all parties.
  • Greet prospects and qualify them by covering all criteria.
  • Record all telephone and in-person visits in our system.
  • Inspect models and available apartments, communicating related service needs to the Property Manager.
  • Demonstrate community and apartment knowledge to clients by communicating the features and benefits.
  • Have prospects complete applications and secure deposits in accordance with company procedures and Fair Housing requirements.
  • Update availability reports, process applications for approvals, and follow up with applicants regarding status.
  • Ensure apartments are ready for residents to move-in on the scheduled date in the lease agreement.
  • Follow up with prospects who did not close and attempt to close the sale again.
  • Secure new residents' signatures on appropriate paperwork prior to move-in.
  • Orient new residents to the community.
  • Assist in monitoring renewals, distributing and following up on renewal notices.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One (1) year's experience in a previous relevant customer service or sales field.
  • Self-starter and proactive.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent problem resolution and consultative sales skills.
  • Ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns and avoid escalation of problems.
  • Fair Housing Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Ability to support and contribute to the community team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to smile in difficult circumstances.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
