Position Overview
This role involves managing, supervising, and coordinating the daily operations of a designated patient care department under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, while providing both clinical and administrative leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the strategic planning and achievement of departmental and organizational goals.
- Exhibit and promote professional conduct in all interactions with staff.
- Act as a change agent, guiding staff through necessary transitions.
- Facilitate monthly unit meetings to discuss departmental and organizational objectives.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for team members, incorporating peer feedback and professional development plans.
- Support unit-based shared governance and assist in removing barriers in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
- Encourage professional development and conduct quarterly check-ins with staff.
- Advocate for nursing specialty certification in partnership with the Nurse Manager.

Quality and Patient Safety
- Identify, plan, and implement initiatives in collaboration with the Nurse Manager to ensure that patient care aligns with professional nursing standards and safety regulations.
- Monitor departmental performance against established quality and patient safety benchmarks.
- Participate in regulatory compliance initiatives and assist in creating a yearly quality improvement plan.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and other departments to enhance the patient experience.
- Ensure the effective execution of the financial plan in partnership with the Nurse Manager.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through efficient resource management while upholding patient care standards.
- Mentor and coach staff, fostering a culture of learning and research utilization.
- Promote participation in councils and committees, as well as attendance at educational programs based on assessed needs.
- Conduct quarterly developmental goal reviews with assigned staff.
