Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Specialist Office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient rooms and instruments are clean and sanitized for use.
  • Perform vital signs on patients, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
  • Obtain and document patient history, including immunization records and medication allergies.
  • Assist doctors with procedures and provide support as needed.
  • Make patient calls and communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations.
  • Complete referrals and referral cover sheets for doctor approval.
  • Set up home therapies for patients and provide education on proper use.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Attend meetings to stay up-to-date on changes in protocol and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and front office staff to provide optimal patient care.
  • Administer immunizations and medicine injections, and follow OSHA and Safety requirements.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant – Specialty.
  • Must have worked as a Phlebotomist.
  • Must have experience with prior authorizations.
  • Must have EMR experience; Knowledge of NextGen highly preferred.
  • Must have experience taking vitals.
  • Must have triaging experience.
  • Must have experience giving immunizations.
