About the Role

Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. As a key member of our Air & Missile Defense Software Department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing real-time embedded software for our Patriot system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the requirements, design, development, and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools.
  • Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
  • Work closely with the Software Development Team to ensure seamless integration of software components.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in developing software using object-oriented C/C++, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience designing and developing real-time embedded software.
  • Experience with Network Communication Protocols, Shell Scripting, software development tools like Git/Clearcase, software debuggers, and using embedded RTOSs.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems, architectures, software development life cycle, and processes.
