Equipment Repair Technician

Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Cairfair Composites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and safety of production equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies for repairs, ensuring seamless continuity of operations.
- Document all maintenance activities and repairs in the maintenance management system to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with production personnel to minimize downtime during repairs, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for everyone.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, suggesting innovative solutions to optimize operations.
- Train and mentor junior staff as necessary, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
- A strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and think critically.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
- A willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
