Position Overview:

The Financial Operations Supervisor is accountable to the Financial Manager for overseeing and executing all responsibilities related to the company's financial documentation. This role includes assisting in evaluating the fiscal stability of the organization for assessment by the Financial Manager and the company Treasurer, as well as managing and developing the performance of hourly staff.

Position Qualifications:
  • A post-secondary degree in accounting is mandatory, with a minimum of five years of experience in accrual-based accounting.
  • Experience in accounting for a manufacturing environment, particularly with cost accounting for products, is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities are essential.
  • Prior experience in project management and budget oversight is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills are required, including experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred) and advanced capabilities in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to manage multiple ongoing responsibilities and projects in a professional manner.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and develop departmental personnel, with the capability and willingness to support the Financial Manager's responsibilities.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Preparation, reconciliation, reporting, and analysis of the company's financial records, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, liabilities, general ledger, and capital projects.
  • General accounting tasks such as journal entries, allocations, account reconciliations, financial statement reporting, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Cash management duties, including wire transfers, foreign exchange tracking, and processing receipts and payments.
  • Support in gathering data for product cost accounting and facilitating internal and external audit processes.
  • Monitoring expenses to provide recommendations for cost reduction.
  • Comprehension and management of information within the Oracle accounting system beyond basic user capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities in a constructive and professional manner.
Work Schedule and Benefits:
  • The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, with on-site presence during daytime hours and overtime as necessary for business needs. Flexibility in work hours may be required during project periods.
  • BioKyowa offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and prescription drug insurance, FSA/HSA options, life and disability insurance, a 401k match, profit sharing (up to 7%), and 15 days of annual vacation.
  • The salaried compensation is determined based on qualifications and experience, with an estimated starting range of $60,000 - $80,000.
Quality Standards (for food production safety):

Compliance with safety regulations includes minimal facial hair, limited makeup, no jewelry, false fingernails, nail polish, hair extensions, wigs, toupees, cologne, or perfume. Long hair must be secured for safety. The facility maintains a non-smoking and non-tobacco environment.
