Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Millennium Physicians Association. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and implement radiation therapy prescriptions and diagnoses
  • Act as a liaison with physicians and supportive care personnel
  • Prepare and maintain equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and files
  • Provide patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care
  • Perform diagnostic imaging tests, including positioning patients, calibrating equipment, and documenting findings
  • Assist patients with basic care needs in a clinic setting
  • Provide emergency care and ensure patient safety
  • Discuss treatment plans with patients and establish correct radiation dosages and locations
  • Operate medical equipment used for radiotherapy and maintain accurate records of patient treatment regimens
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a hospital or clinic setting
  • Proficiency with Varian linear accelerators is essential
  • Knowledge of GE and Philips CT scanners is a plus
  • Must be proficient in all types of radiation treatment plans and protocols
  • Education: Completion of at least a two-year approved School of Radiation Therapy
  • Experience: One year full-time experience as a Radiation Therapist
  • Licensure: Valid state radiology registration as required by state law
  • Certification: Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
