Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Service Engineer to join our team at Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company. As a key member of our Avionics team, you will be responsible for providing technical support for ground and airborne communications, navigations, sensor, displays, and integrated application test equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain test procedures and processes for the manufacture and test of sub-assembly, module, and top-level product for HMDS product lines.
  • Maintain test documentation in current configuration and oversee accurate change management procedures for all test documents.
  • Resolve conflicts in documentation and process definition.
  • Evaluate Customer Returned Good (CRG) activity to repair and return units in the most efficient manner.
  • Use analysis of CRG failure data to identify proactive methods of preventing future failures.
  • Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs.
  • Identify new test approaches that will reduce staffing and capital requirements.
  • Study test equipment performance, reliability, and establish programs and solutions for decreasing equipment downtime.
  • Feed back the analysis to improve design of next generation test equipment.
  • Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for difficult products.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience.
  • Or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must have a background in electronic engineering and/or hardware troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with software troubleshooting.
  • Experience interpreting drawings.
