Position Summary

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements. Key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, executing monthly closing procedures and ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations across various accounts, along with analyzing financial data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely recording of financial transactions within the general ledger.
  • Preparation of journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations to facilitate the monthly closing process.
  • Analysis of revenue trends, costs, and financial commitments to forecast future financial performance.
  • Management of intracompany transactions and resolution of discrepancies, including monitoring accounts receivable from acquired entities.
  • Completion of all monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Oversight of the full cycle of fixed asset management.
  • Preparation and recording of necessary accounts payable accruals.
  • Ensuring reconciliation of general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers.
  • Organization and updating of financial records.
  • Maintenance of financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts to meet processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Response to information requests, review of financial statements, and assistance with audits to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Support to the Accounting Manager and Controller as required.
  • Resolution of accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Development and maintenance of extensive financial data sets using Excel and other tools for account reconciliation.
  • Preparation for financial audits and direct interaction with auditors concerning specific functions.
  • Assistance with special projects and collaboration with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department for monthly reporting and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate environment is advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with processes, concepts, methods, and tools for maintaining precise financial records.
  • Understanding of economic principles, auditing practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and utilize job-specific software.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data management.
  • Highly organized with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Experience with Salesforce or Great Plains software is preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • This position requires the ability to manage physical demands, including:
  • Standard hours are typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Primarily sedentary work at a desk.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of items.
  • Frequent standing, walking, or reaching with hands and arms.
