Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tooling and Die Technician to join our team at Batesville Tool & Die. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining dies and machine-related items to efficiently produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain dies and machine-related items to ensure efficient production of high-quality parts.
  2. Complete assigned tasks on tooling work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  3. Prepare tooling for complete production readiness.
  4. Troubleshoot tools accurately using various techniques, including stop block reading, solder checks, and inspection layout.
  5. Understand and operate die support elements, including part unloaders, knockout systems, and die protection.
  6. Apply trigonometry and shop math to calculate die clearance and shear.
  7. Retime die components accurately and produce quality shims in a timely manner.
  8. Lead Continuous Improvement projects and understand machine capabilities.
  9. Set up and operate manual machines and Proto Trak equipment in the tooling area.
  10. Filling out press logs and tooling work orders accurately.
  11. Advise group leaders of print and Kanban list changes.
  12. Check production parts following repairs and adjustments to ensure correct action was effective.
  13. Operate various pressroom equipment and participate in die tryout and inspection.
  14. Exhibit exceptional confidence in performance and willingness to help associates and train co-workers.
  15. Participate in Continuous Improvement teams to improve processes and procedures.
  16. Assist with training of co-op and mentorship programs.
  17. Flexible work schedule and/or overtime may be required based on company needs.

  • Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
