Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Berkshire Extended Care Services Inc. This part-time position involves assisting in the preparation and serving of meals, as well as maintaining a clean and organized dining environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in serving meals on a timely basis and in accordance with established portion control procedures.
  • Serve food in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Participate in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, including cleaning work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, and sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment.
  • Carry soiled items to the wash area and return clean items to their proper storage areas.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from the dining area and dispose of them in accordance with established policies.
  • Assist the cook in preparing meals and set up meal trays, food carts, and dining rooms as instructed.
  • Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
  • Deliver food carts, trays, and other items to designated areas.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess a strong attention to detail. You should also be comfortable working in a team setting and have basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
