Job Summary

The Patient Services Technician plays a vital role in the laboratory by performing specimen collection, labeling, and processing. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to verify the accuracy and quality of specimens collected. The successful candidate will also be responsible for training others in these techniques and ensuring the accuracy of test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specimen collection by venipuncture and capillary puncture
  • Verify accuracy and quality of specimens collected
  • Dispatch specimens to appropriate testing locations
  • Train others in specimen collection and processing techniques
  • Perform test requisition entry and gather patient information
  • Ensure accuracy of test results and maintain equipment and instruments
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a high school graduate or equivalent, with a Certified Phlebotomist certification preferred. EKG training through an accredited organization is also preferred.

Work Environment

This position is located at Ohio State Outpatient Care Dublin (1045) and requires varying shifts. The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week.
