Job Description

At Cogir of Tigard, we are seeking an experienced Memory Care Manager to lead our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for implementing, delivering, and coordinating resident care services in our Memory Care neighborhood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train and supervise memory care staff to ensure high-quality care.
  • Support the care plan execution and maintain communication with residents' families.
  • Collaborate with the Lifestyle team to design programming and activities that meet each resident's interests and needs.
  • Assist in recruiting, supervising, and scheduling care staff according to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain medication programs under the oversight of the Health and Wellness Director.
  • Perform assessments and reassessments of residents according to policies.
  • Act as the contact for non-clinical issues related to resident care in Memory Care.
  • Ensure resident satisfaction through consistent delivery of high-quality services.
  • Maintain current departmental policies, procedures, and licenses, following company, Federal, State, and local requirements.

Requirements:

  • A degree in gerontology, nursing, social work, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of dementia experience in a supervisory role is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in assisted living and memory care is preferred.
  • CDP certification is preferred, equivalent to experience and formal dementia training.
  • Must meet the qualifications to support resident ADL care per state requirements (where applicable).
  • Knowledge of various computer systems, particularly Excel and Word, and comfortable learning new programs.
  • A high degree of accuracy in all assignments; ability to manage time effectively and take initiative, employing professional ethics and good judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong teamwork, and the ability to motivate.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and be on-call.
