Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Systems Calibration Engineer with extensive experience in various calibration techniques applicable to optics, displays, cameras, and motion sensing technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of how calibration decisions affect system performance and will collaborate with multiple teams to identify optimal solutions for intricate user-facing functionalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including module and test engineering, to establish robust calibration and testing methodologies that ensure manufacturability.
  • Engage in international travel to manufacturing facilities during prototype and validation builds as required.
  • Utilize statistical analysis tools to evaluate calibration methodologies and their effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Physics, Systems Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in system design, integration, and product development within Consumer Electronics (AR-VR), Medical, Automotive, or Aerospace sectors.
  • Proficiency in prototyping and evaluating calibration techniques in laboratory settings.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data analysis software such as JMP or Mini-tab.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as C++, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Detail-oriented with a disciplined approach to documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in calibration methodologies for optics, displays, motion sensing, or camera systems.
  • Hands-on experience with linear algebra concepts relevant to computer vision.
  • Familiarity with 6DOF tracking technologies.
  • Understanding of graphics rendering pipelines is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of low-level software, including firmware and drivers in C or C++, is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
At Apple, the base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. The salary range for this position is between $199,800 and $300,200, determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, employees have the opportunity to participate in stock programs and enjoy benefits such as medical and dental coverage, retirement plans, and educational reimbursement for career advancement.
