HULLER ROOM TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY: Responsible for operating and assisting in the upkeep of machinery within the decorticating area. Manage the seed flow to the decorticators and ensure the meats bin is adequately stocked.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor machinery to confirm it functions within set parameters.
  • Regulate the seed feed to decorticators to maintain balanced workloads across all equipment.
  • Ensure a consistent supply of black-seed to the separation area to optimize decorticator loading and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of meats in the designated tank.
  • Conduct cleaning of decorticator screens and trays at least twice per shift.
  • Perform cleaning of safety shaker screens two times each shift.
  • Examine the rotary drum filter, ensuring it operates correctly and clear any blockages.
  • Clean hull beater trays twice during each shift.
  • Carry out routine maintenance on milling equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs.
  • Report any mechanical issues and safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Remove dust and lint from overhead structures.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area by sweeping, shoveling, and disposing of waste.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

Assist in other departments as instructed by the supervisor. Adhere to all PYCO Industries, Inc. rules, regulations, and safety protocols, along with all relevant OSHA, EPA, and DEQ standards.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To successfully perform this role, an individual must be capable of executing each essential duty effectively. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential functions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Less than a high school diploma; or up to one month of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write basic correspondence, and communicate information effectively in various situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using units of American currency and measurements.

REASONING ABILITY:

Utilize common sense to follow detailed instructions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A driver's license is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires standing, walking, talking, handling objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and lifting/moving weights. Specific vision abilities are necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, heights, and various environmental elements. Moderate noise levels exist, and personal protective equipment is required in designated areas.
