Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Victim Advocate Specialist to join our team at the City of Brighton. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in providing crisis intervention, support, and referrals to victims of crime in our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to crisis situations 24/7, assessing victims' safety and needs, and communicating effectively with law enforcement officers.
- Provide on-scene crisis intervention, support, and inform victims of their rights and available resources.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated response to victim needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide comprehensive support services to victims, including advocacy, counseling, and referrals.
- Provide excellent customer service and human relations skills, upholding the City of Brighton's mission and values.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks and situations.
- Knowledge of victim services and crisis intervention principles.
