About Us

A Helping Hand Home Care Services, LLC is a leading private duty home care agency in the Hanover, Pennsylvania area, dedicated to providing non-medical in-home care for seniors and disabled adults.

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and patient Caregiver to provide personal assistance to our clients, including attending to their basic needs, reminding them to take prescribed medication, and assisting with physical therapy exercises.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care assistance, including showering, bathing, dressing, and eating
  • Remind clients to take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation
  • Help with mobility around the house or outside, including doctor's appointments and walks
  • Assist with planning and preparing meals
  • Complete client's shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
  • Provide local transportation to appointments/errands
  • Perform housekeeping duties
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
  • Report any changes in client's condition/behavior and report incidents/injuries
Requirements
  • Every other weekend is required to work
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with current auto insurance
  • Ability to pass Pennsylvania background check and FBI background check, if needed
  • Ability to pass online competency exam or provide current CNA certification
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (preferred but not required, 1 year of experience)
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
  • Supportive and compassionate
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver

COVID-19 Considerations

The safety of our caregivers and clients is very important to us. Gloves and masks can be provided upon request. Caregivers are required to assess themselves and their consumers every day.

All caregivers are required to respond to questions regarding symptoms/exposure prior to each shift, take their own temperature, practice good hand washing, and utilize PPE such as masks and gloves.
