Key Responsibilities

As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting and distributing building materials to designated clients. Your duties will include:

  • Safely loading, handling, and transporting materials and heavy cargo.
  • Driving the vehicle to its destination while adhering to commercial driving regulations and demonstrating skill in navigating challenging situations.
  • Completing necessary documentation and addressing any customer inquiries or issues to your supervisor.
  • Inspecting the vehicle for defects or issues before and after trips, submitting reports on the truck's condition.
  • Maintaining the vehicle in a safe operational state, including regular servicing with fuel, oil, and water.
  • Keeping accurate logs and records in compliance with D.O.T. regulations.
  • Assisting colleagues with loading and unloading trucks or constructing loads as required.
  • Securing cargo for transport and ensuring the truck remains clean.
  • Upholding high standards of safety, quality, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or two years of equivalent work experience. A valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) is mandatory, along with the ability to operate transportation equipment safely (e.g., tractor/trailer combinations). A minimum of two years of truck driving experience is required, along with a working knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance with Boise Cascade driver qualifications. The role involves working in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with flatbed trucks is preferred. Familiarity with building materials and forklift operation is advantageous.
