Job Overview

This role is integral to the Edgewood Quality Team, focusing on delivering quality assurance for designated products and areas of responsibility. The position will also enhance the overall quality framework by leading internal audits and managing the corrective action processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across departments including S and T, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Service to effectively address quality issues related to in-house, customer, and supplier concerns.
  • Implement corrective and preventive action management throughout the supply chain, employing root cause analysis to protect product integrity and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development, execution, and upkeep of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO9001 standards, including conducting internal audits and supporting external audit processes.
  • Establish first-time-through (FTT) metrics at critical stages of the manufacturing workflow, providing weekly updates and root cause evaluations.
  • Conduct random audits during in-process and final assembly stages, compiling results and facilitating feedback sessions for corrective and preventive measures.
  • Engage with engineering and manufacturing teams to design and implement necessary product qualification and validation tests, along with subsequent analysis and follow-up actions.
  • Assist in refining manufacturing processes for both existing and new products, coordinating Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
  • Analyze product performance and compile reports with support from the Quality Analyst.
  • Drive and execute plant-wide quality system enhancements in alignment with the Quality Manager's directives.
  • Lead and engage in problem-solving discussions utilizing formal methodologies (8D, PDCA, etc.).
  • Oversee PFMEA/Dynamic Control Plan (DCP) initiatives, ensuring identification and resolution of all potential failure modes in processes.
  • Maintain 5S practices and participate in or facilitate LEAN Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Support essential quality and management system processes such as Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
  • Conduct training sessions on quality-related procedures.
  • Provide expert guidance to other support functions regarding quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate and regulatory export control and security regulations.

Candidate Profile

Education/Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent; ASQ-CQE and/or relevant education and experience).
  • ASQ-Certified Quality Auditor certification is advantageous.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within a high-tech manufacturing setting.
  • Preferred experience in the manufacture of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in quality planning, analysis, statistical tools, and data interpretation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or higher standards is essential.
  • Experience with environmental management systems such as ISO 14001 is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to facilitate team-based problem-solving processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SAP ERP.
  • Experience in management system implementation, process mapping, and flowcharting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
