Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, we're seeking a talented Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team. As a key member of our hospitalist program, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to our young patients.
As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you'll be responsible for providing direct patient care to hospitalized children, diagnosing and treating common inpatient pediatric conditions, and completing thorough and timely medical documentation in our electronic health record system.
You'll also have the opportunity to work with our multidisciplinary team to provide general pediatric consultation to other services, including surgery, and may supervise clinical providers, including medical students, resident physicians, and advanced practice providers.
Our hospitalist program offers a range of clinical activities, including attending-only general pediatric teams, surgical co-management, behavioral health co-management, complex care, and sedation services. You'll have the flexibility to work at our main Philadelphia campus or our community site in King of Prussia.
We're committed to providing our hospitalists with the support and resources they need to succeed. Our section offers numerous faculty development programs, including a formal mentoring program for early career hospitalists and weekly attending-only education conferences on a variety of topics.

Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to hospitalized children
- Diagnose and treat common inpatient pediatric conditions
- Complete thorough and timely medical documentation in the EHR (Epic)
- Triage urgent changes in patient's clinical status and utilize rapid response team or pediatric code team when necessary
- Provide general pediatric consultation to other services, including surgery
- May supervise clinical providers, including medical students, resident physicians, and advanced practice providers
- Doctorate in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
- Working knowledge of hospital policies, practices, and protocols
- Knowledge of computer systems and applications
- Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
