Clinical Nutrition Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutritionist II to join our team at the HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION. As a Clinical Nutritionist II, you will play a critical role in providing medical nutrition therapy for psychiatric patients in our state hospital. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating their nutritional status, developing, implementing, and evaluating nutritional care plans based on patient needs and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the nutritional status of patients and develop individualized complex therapeutic menus modified in nutrients and/or texture to meet special medical/physical needs.
- Provide nutrition education, dietary counseling services that address nutritional principles, modified diet plans, and food selection to support achievement of the best nutritional care.
- Develop educational programs, materials, and presentations to promote nutrition awareness and healthy eating habits.
- Collaborate with the recovery team and other clinically related teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Prepare updates and/or reviews of food and nutrition patient data for hospital leadership, as requested.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification.
- Experience in medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
