Pride Health is a healthcare services company hiring an Epic Systems Security Specialist.

This 18-month contract with a possible extension offers competitive pay and benefits.

As a remote opportunity, the candidate must be based in Michigan or North-East Ohio due to occasional meetings.

Pay range: $40 - $43.50 per hour on W2

Length of assignment: 18 months (With possible extension)

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am -4:00 pm

About the Job

The successful candidate will design the Epic systems security framework based on user needs and an understanding of the foundational structures of Epic software.

Key responsibilities include mediating between technical and business stakeholders, providing high-quality solutions, and promoting efficiency and enterprise-wide standardization.

Job Duties:

  • Subject matter expert in applications' capabilities and features for users, owners, and administrators.
  • Staying up-to-date with new Epic security functionalities.
  • Coordinating security-related activities across teams.
  • Making access decisions in conjunction with application coordinators/analysts.
  • Designing system-level access with application teams.
  • Establishing ownership and change delegation guidelines.
  • Limits system access to authorized staff.
  • Securing remote access.
  • Ensuring system passwords are changed regularly.
  • Establishing user passwords at the operating system level.
  • Creating security classifications with suitable menus within Epic software.
  • Creating procedures for new users to receive login authorization, passwords, and training on proper system security.
  • Inactivating users who should no longer access the system.
  • Crafting test scenarios and developing test plans to verify client requirements are incorporated into the system design.
  • Participating in technical reviews and inspections to ensure project goals are met.
  • Providing support and escalation response to production problem issues/errors.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree or associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.

Seven years of applicable work experience, including SQL basics, preferred.

Nice to have Unix and different ticketing systems experience.

Will train on proprietary software communicating with Epic; Epic experience not necessary.

Five years of applicable experience in a Healthcare setting preferred.

Experience with at least two major Epic implementations or upgrades.

Documenting business requirements experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.

Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.

Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
