Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of electrical equipment installations.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, boxes, conduits, feeders, panels, commercial switchgear up to 3000A, transformers, disconnects, and other commercial 208/480V electrical components.
  • Test electrical equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, and other electrical systems.
  • Communicate with clients in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  • Collaborate with construction workers, plumbers, and other crew members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Trench for electrical underground installations.
  • Test electrical systems using tools such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system, and to ensure compatibility.
  • Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring, or devices.
  • Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints, and maps.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements, and report any violations to the immediate supervisor.
  • Use ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and lifts to work on electrical systems in commercial properties.
  • Trench and install underground PVC and overhead EMT.
