About the Role

CareGard Warranty Services is seeking a skilled Automotive Claims Examiner II to join our Claims Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving vehicle claims in a fair and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claim Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of vehicle claims to determine the cause of damage and ensure that repairs are necessary.
  • Repair Cost Verification: Verify repair costs using industry-standard labor guides to ensure estimates are accurate and within approval guidelines.
  • Field Inspections: Determine if a field inspection is required based on the cause of failure, cost estimate, and repair facility submissions.
  • Documentation: Document all interactions, research, verifications, and other claim-related information in our database.
  • Customer Communication: Interact with customers, agents, dealers, and other relevant parties to complete all claims investigations.
  • Collaboration: Partner with other departments, claims adjusters, and management staff to identify options that support claims resolution and approval.
  • Information Retrieval: Retrieve information from the claim file system and communicate information to customers, dealers, repair facilities, and vendors.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on automotive repair and diagnosis experience as a Line Tech or Service Advisor, including knowledge of heavy mechanical breakdowns.
  • Certification: ASE Certification - must have at least one.
  • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer and data entry skills, heavy use of Windows-based programs.
  • Communication Skills: Professional telephone etiquette and excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Compensation

Wage dependent on experience and skill, starting at $42,000.
