Job Summary:

Portland General Electric is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our server, storage, and backup systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade server applications running on Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Review system software updates and identify those that merit action.
  • Tailor system software to maximize hardware functionality.
  • Install and test new versions of system software and apply patches to keep it current and stable.
  • Prepare and maintain operational documentation for system software.
  • Review capacity, performance, availability, and other operational metrics and take appropriate action to ensure corrective and proactive maintenance of storage and backup systems.
  • Prepare and maintain operational procedures and provide technical expertise and appropriate information to management.
  • Provide reports and proposals for improvement to specialists, users, and managers.
  • Conduct tests of hardware and/or software using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools.
  • Develop installation procedures and standards and schedule installation work.
  • Provide specialist guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues to ensure best use is made of available assets and to maintain or improve the installation service.
  • Recommend/design structures and tools for systems that meet business needs and take into account target environment, performance security requirements, and existing systems.
  • Deliver technical visualization of proposed applications for approval by customer and execution by system developers.
  • Translate logical designs into physical designs and produce detailed design documentation.
  • Map work to user specification and remove errors and deviations from specification to achieve user-friendly processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or closely related field or foreign equivalent degree or combination of education and professional experience.
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered and 3 years of experience in PeopleSoft and Database Support skills and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Compensation:

$87, $145,375.00. Actual total compensation, including a performance-based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity.
