Position Overview:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will primarily focus on iGov's integration initiatives for Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) programs. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with a dedicated engineering team to devise solutions that facilitate computing and communication capabilities across various formats, including tactical, portable, and data center environments. Additionally, you will act as a technical advisor to the Chief Engineer and Program Manager, providing insights on all aspects of systems engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced configurations for networking systems.
  • Design and implement VPN configurations.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on CSfC policies and procedures.
  • Utilize virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Provide expertise in the technical aspects of systems engineering, including configuration management of documentation and media essential for production.
  • Support and implement iGov's ISO 9000:2015 policies and procedures.
  • Oversee System Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) activities while adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Perform comprehensive systems analysis, evaluation, integration, and implementation of intricate networking solutions.
  • Guide the implementation of system specifications, designs, integrations, testing, and documentation.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including interface control documents (ICD).
  • Manage obsolescence programs to ensure compatibility of hardware and software components.
  • Review and analyze complex task statements and specifications to derive functional and component-level engineering architecture.
  • Ensure a work environment that upholds standards for ethics, fairness, and safety.
  • Comply with time reporting and conduct timecard approvals.
  • Physical presence is required for this role.
  • Collaborate and support peer engineers in their tasks.
  • Identify risks and assess their potential impacts on program budgets and schedules.
  • Evaluate and recommend new products and solutions based on requirements.
  • Author and maintain technical documentation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Sales and Business Development teams.
  • Timely attendance is crucial for this position.
  • Perform other related systems engineering duties as necessary.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in designing complex IT systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Server Operating Systems and Domain Administration in a Windows Server environment.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in virtualization within a VMware environment.
  • At least 4 years of networking experience in a Cisco environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with effective root cause identification.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Prior military experience and experience with tactical IT equipment deployment is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
  • Excellent active listening and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to articulate messages clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in ambiguous situations.
  • Must possess an active Secret clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Preferred industry-recognized certifications, such as:
    • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
    • Cisco CCNP, Aruba ACMP, Juniper JNCIP
    • VMware Certified Associate (VCA)
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); CompTIA Security+; or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Clearance Statement:
Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. An active Secret clearance is preferred.
