Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Access Representative to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and ensuring a smooth registration process for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Verify patient information, obtain necessary paperwork, and enter accurate demographic and insurance information into our computer system.
  • Customer Service: Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, providing excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial Communication: Handle financial transactions with patients in a positive and professional manner, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Maintain appointment scheduling systems, including scheduling, coordinating, and adjusting patient appointments as needed.
  • Telephone and Communication: Answer phone calls promptly, screen calls, and take complete messages, distributing information to nursing and medical support staff as needed.
  • Administrative Tasks: Prepare office batches, balance patient payments, and maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate
  • Experience: Previous related experience preferred, but not required
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working variable hours, 7am-5pm, Monday-Friday. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
