Job Summary

The Robotic Welder plays a critical role in ensuring that product components meet quality standards. This position involves joining metal components using appropriate welding techniques as defined by blueprints, maintaining prescribed quality standards via CNC Robot with occasional MIG technique.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weld components with welding equipment as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions.
  • Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jig or fixtures.
  • Adjust and monitor amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse as specified.
  • Measure dimensions using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, or check fixtures.
  • Manually guide electrode or gun along the joint weld line, maintaining length of arc and travel speed to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
  • Visually examine and measure welds using weld gauges to determine weld acceptability based on specified tolerances.
  • Select torch, torch tip, and filler rod per Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Trim, sand, and drill parts, fit and deburr product as required.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Assist engineering in creating, implementing, and maintaining Weld Procedure Specifications defining process, set-up, and operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of production welding experience or welding certification from an accredited Technical School.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certified.
  • 1 year of Robotic welding/programming.
