Longview Independent School District is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced HVAC Technician to maintain, repair, and install heating and air conditioning systems and equipment throughout our district. The successful candidate will have a strong background in HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of heating and air conditioning systems, including rooftop equipment.
  • Install new heating and air conditioning systems and components.
  • Relocate and expand existing HVAC systems as needed.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for all HVAC equipment.
  • Assist energy manager to complete energy conservation surveys.
  • Receive and complete work orders.
  • Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
  • Detect needed repairs on equipment following established inspection procedures.
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Texas Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractor License or Technician Certification.
  • Five years experience in HVAC field.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent district-wide travel. The position requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including inside and outside school district buildings and facilities. The employee will be exposed to a wide range of climatic conditions, dust, flammable or toxic chemicals, and loud noise.
