Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Transportation Specialist to join our team at Arrow Construction. This role requires the safe transportation of heavy equipment and machinery to and from construction sites, as well as maintaining optimal routes and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Transport: Load, secure, transport, and unload construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all equipment is properly secured and follows legal safety and weight restrictions.
  • Route Planning: Navigate to and from construction sites efficiently, prioritizing safe driving practices on public roads and construction sites.
Vehicle Maintenance:
  • Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct pre-trip inspections of the transport vehicle, including trailer and securing mechanisms, to ensure safe operation.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Report any vehicle or equipment issues to the supervisor and arrange for timely repairs or maintenance.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the transport vehicle.
Compliance and Documentation:
  • DOT Regulations: Adhere to all DOT regulations and company policies regarding driving hours, load limits, and safety standards.
  • Documentation: Complete all required documentation, including delivery logs, mileage records, and inspection reports.
  • Permits and Certifications: Ensure that all permits or certifications for transporting heavy/oversized loads are up-to-date and accessible.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience transporting heavy equipment or oversized loads; experience in a construction or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A; additional endorsements may be preferred.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of DOT regulations, safe equipment handling, load securement techniques, and effective route planning.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, secure, and handle heavy equipment; comfortable with physical exertion required for loading and unloading machinery.
Estimated Salary:

$65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
