About the Role

VIZIO is seeking a Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our DevSecOps Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the availability, performance, and security of our cloud services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Availability and Performance Optimization: Ensure that Vizio services deliver seamless performance and high availability to end-users, enhancing the overall customer experience.
  2. Incident Response Strategies: Implement robust incident response strategies to swiftly address any disruptions or issues that may arise.
  3. Collaboration and Coordination: Foster collaboration with the Engineering Organization, Security teams, and Software Engineers to secure and optimize our cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, and embedded platforms.
  4. Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies, adapting to the ever-evolving landscape of SRE practices.
What You Will Do

As a Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and deploying robust products, tooling, and system solutions.
  • Proactively monitoring systems to prevent incidents and building effective monitoring systems that alert based on symptoms rather than outages.
  • Quickly triaging application and system issues, debugging and tracking them to ensure swift recovery.
  • Creating and testing infrastructure and automation code to streamline operations and ensure scalability.
  • Reviewing design and code, providing constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Performing root cause analysis for incidents, assessing their impact and providing feedback to enhance system resiliency.
  • Contributing to and maintaining existing documentation, including educational content, system architecture diagrams, and incident management runbooks.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer with a strong background in cloud infrastructure engineering, cloud-based network engineering, or DevOps. You should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, cloud infrastructure engineering, cloud-based network engineering, or DevOps.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and applications primarily hosted in AWS.
  • Experience developing in Terraform or cloud formation.
  • Experience with Git-based source-code repositories and automated CI/CD (Github Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI).
  • Experience with AWS native observability tools.
  • Experience with SumoLogic data analytics (or similar).
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and DevOps best practices.
