Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Transportation Operations to lead our regional transportation operations programs. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and management for our transportation operational programs, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration with federal, state, local, and private sector organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement transportation operational programs, including Commuter Connections and federal grant projects.
  • Coordinate with federal, state, local, and private sector organizations to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
  • Manage a team of professional and support staff members to achieve program goals.
  • Develop and oversee budgets for operational programs to ensure alignment with project needs.
  • Establish and maintain excellent contacts and working relationships with professionals, elected officials, and other public and private sector agencies and organizations.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to a team of professional, support, and intern employees.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in development, management, and promotion of operational transportation projects or programs.
  • 5+ years of supervisory and team leadership experience.
  • Master's degree in Transportation Engineering, Planning, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Strong knowledge of urban transportation planning processes and alternative commute programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

The work environment is typically quiet, and the employee is required to talk or hear regularly, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
