Job Title: Commissioner of Public Health

Thrive is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Commissioner of Public Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision to ensure the effective management of our public health department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide executive leadership and vision for policy planning, initiatives, and compliance.
  • Work with community partners to enhance wellness, accessibility, and collaboration.
  • Promote a culture of scientific integrity and compliance.
  • Communicate with the public and decision-makers to advance public health efforts.
  • Build upon current strengths, identify new opportunities, and advance the mission of our department.
  • Develop and promote training and professional development for the department.
  • Lead and support an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Advise the Board on long-range planning and development of administrative programs.
Requirements:
  • For medical doctors, an active medical license that can be transferred to Kentucky.
  • For non-physicians, a master's degree.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Five years of experience in public health or a related field.
