Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and patient-oriented Radiologic Technologist to join our team at the University of Michigan. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for creating diagnostic imaging radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established practices and procedures. You will obtain patient history, explain routine procedures, and address patient concerns. You will also provide appropriate patient care following the Radiology Gold Service Excellence guidelines to achieve successful completion of procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic procedures using ionizing radiation to create diagnostic imaging radiographs of designated anatomical areas.
  • Obtain patient history, explain routine procedures, and address patient concerns.
  • Provide appropriate patient care following the Radiology Gold Service Excellence guidelines to achieve successful completion of procedures.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of this service following the Code of Conduct of the ARRT.
  • Contribute as a team member to enhance job stewardship mindful of Internal and External customer service standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from a school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology is required within the first six months of employment.
  • Maintains ARRT Registration.
  • Maintains BCLS Certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, ingenuity, creativity, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrates understanding with all age-appropriate guidelines for communication, positioning, radiation exposures, and radiation protection.

Desired Qualifications

  • Sectra PACS experience, as well as proficient computer entry skills, including MiChart.
  • Experience with general diagnostics in an Outpatient/Clinic setting, and Bone Density/DEXA exams.
  • Orthopedic Experience
  • Bone Density/DEXA Experience
  • Experience with Level 1 Trauma Center
  • CPR certification
  • Liko Lift Experience
