Job Summary:

Guidehouse is seeking a highly skilled Admission Coordinator to join our team. As an Admission Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient admission process for patients. This is a full-time, evening shift position with a schedule of 6:00am-2:30pm, 4 days a week, and same schedule every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate Data Entry: Ensure accurate and timely entry of patient demographic and financial information into our computer system.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, family members, physicians, and supervisors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
  • Pre-Certification and Authorization: Obtain pre-certification, referral, or authorization numbers and update patient files accordingly.
  • Communication: Notify patients, family members, physicians, and supervisors of insurance coverage issues, co-payments, deductibles, or deposits needed, and document all information in our computer system.
  • Order Review: Review physician orders for completion and ensure all required information is listed.
  • Compliance: Maintain knowledge of all Federal, State, and Local laws pertaining to insurance rules and regulations, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Computer Systems: Maintain multiple computer systems, including our patient information system, and ensure accurate and timely data entry.
  • Shift Duties: Complete all shift duties in a timely and accurate manner, including answering telephone calls and providing assistance to callers.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1 year experience in a hospital setting, medical office, or a high-volume customer service environment.
