Nurse Educator for Ambulatory and Specialty Care

A Registered Nurse dedicated to fostering the professional development of Nursing Department members while implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of care provided.
This role serves as a mentor and educator, acting as a facilitator, change agent, consultant, and leader to encourage the professional advancement of peers and colleagues. The focus of this Nurse Educator position is on Ambulatory and Specialty Care sectors.
Position entails a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employs adult learning principles to evaluate and determine the educational needs of nursing professionals, set educational goals, plan and execute educational programs, and conduct thorough evaluations of these initiatives.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge base of professional practices, including departmental and organizational policies, care standards, and procedures.
- Engages in evidence-based practices to identify methods for enhancing professional development activities, nursing practices, and patient outcomes.
- Creates nursing education curricula and programs informed by various sources, including quality outcomes and evolving trends in nursing practice.
- Offers consultation and resources to Nurse Managers, Nurse Leaders, and clinical teams, collaborating to pinpoint learning needs.
- Documents learning activities in accordance with departmental, organizational, and external agency standards.
- Utilizes effective oral, written, and electronic communication skills to foster collegial relationships both within and across departments.
- Exemplifies professional behaviors through active participation in professional organizations, commitment to lifelong learning, dissemination of knowledge via publications and presentations, and involvement in nursing research.
- Demonstrates clinical proficiency through research, demonstration, observation, and teaching of clinical competencies.
- Participates in the recruitment and selection process for new team members.
- Assists in the orientation process by collaborating with the Nurse Manager in planning, executing, and evaluating the orientation program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred and must be obtained if hired with a BSN within three years.
- Active Registered Nurse Licensure in Delaware (or a compact state based on residency) is required.
- National certification in Professional Development and/or nursing specialty certification relevant to the patient population is required.
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification is mandatory.
