Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at ECHN. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide direct and indirect patient care, prioritizing patient needs and responding to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring seamless care transitions and promoting positive patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient preferences.
  • Assess and manage patient pain, utilizing appropriate pain management tools and techniques.
  • Document patient care and responses to treatment in a timely and accurate manner, utilizing electronic medical records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in critical care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care, including medication management, wound care, and respiratory therapy.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
  • Stay current with advances in critical care, participating in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of 1 year of critical care experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of productivity.
