Job Summary

Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc. is seeking a skilled and compassionate Residential Counselor - Float Position to join our team. As a key member of our residential continuum of programs, you will be responsible for engaging participants and managing the milieu in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage Participants: Develop and implement a range of recreational and daily life activities to promote resident engagement and community building.
  • Milieu Management: Monitor and ensure the safety of residents, implementing crisis intervention strategies as needed.
  • Program Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating program activities, services, and events that promote resident well-being and community development.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support, including maintaining program statistics, client records, and daily task management.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Residential Coordinator and other staff members to ensure seamless program operations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience working with youth ages 18-24 in housing management, job development, community relations, substance abuse, or recreational counseling.
  • Skills: Comfort and confidence working in a fast-paced environment, enthusiastic about working with homeless transitional youth, ability to identify and execute effective problem-solving strategies, and sound crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
