Position Type:
This is a Full-Time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of project scope, timelines, budget constraints, and quality control standards.
- Provide input on work execution strategies, including site-specific safety protocols, methods, pre-fabrication planning, and material staging.
- Ensure timely generation of bulk material requisitions by assigned foremen, specifying release dates and packing requirements.
- Collaborate with foremen to plan and oversee trade activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgeted man-hours.
- Offer regular feedback to foremen regarding labor hours versus budgeted expectations.
- Work alongside Trade Managers and Foremen to address performance issues related to safety, quality, production, and scheduling.
- Assist in resolving construction challenges, such as productivity and work interface issues.
- Adjust work sequences as necessary to align with construction schedules, utilizing knowledge of equipment capacities and personnel capabilities.
- Prepare time and material estimates for contract modifications.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and project requirements, documenting and implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Conduct inspections of ongoing and completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Evaluate and document the performance of assigned personnel, ensuring accurate timesheet submissions.
- Train and supervise lead foremen, foremen, mechanics, and helpers on company policies and safety practices.
- Report any workplace injuries to the Safety Manager and Human Resources promptly.
- Adhere to all CES Policies and Procedures and undertake additional tasks as directed by Trade Managers and Project Managers.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of industry standards and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interpret project plans and specifications.
- Proven ability to motivate and lead teams effectively.
- Commitment to professional development through self-study and training opportunities.
- Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling and cost control.
- Ability to manage and supervise large teams under various pressures and conditions.
- Proficient in research and familiar with software platforms such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and CM tools like Autodesk Build, Procore, and BIM 360.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including climbing and balancing on ladders, and standing for extended periods.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED, with completion of a post-secondary program or apprenticeship in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in the commercial Sheet Metal duct trade.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and safety certifications, including OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR.
