Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing MRI procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. This includes operating MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, as well as maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as necessary.
- Properly identify and assist patients, preparing them for procedures with a full explanation and documenting on appropriate worksheets.
- Interview patients for a complete medical history, reviewing in-patient, ER, and out-patient EMR's to obtain pertinent clinical history.
- Assume responsibility for the exam from beginning to completion, evaluating technical quality of images and consulting with a Radiologist if needed.
- Perform basic patient care functions, informing nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiating life support measures as necessary.
- Operate radiology computer systems to enter orders and charge procedures/supplies, documenting contrast administration in the MAR.
- Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA-approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in a ARMRIT or ARRT registry-eligible program.
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, ARRT or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI required within one year of hire.
- CPR certification required.
