Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing environmental, civil, and mining engineering projects to mitigate the hazards and environmental degradation associated with abandoned mine land sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement environmental and civil engineering projects to abate hazards and environmental degradation
  • Collaborate with federal, state, county, and local municipalities to obtain necessary approvals and permits
  • Work with a supervisor to review and approve project designs and plans
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups and local government officials
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program or equivalent experience
  • Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, with an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
  • Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, with an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline
  • One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
