Job Title: Behavioral Health Specialist

At LifeHealth, we are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality medical exams to employees, Veterans, Service members, responders, and beneficiaries of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Specialist will be responsible for conducting one-time, non-treatment exams related to a Veteran's disability claim for Behavioral Health. This will involve reviewing the Veteran's medical history, which includes an abstract that highlights portions of the history applicable to the Veteran's claim. You will also guide the Veteran through the web-based Disability Questionnaire's (DBQ's) using the material gathered during the exam.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct one-time, non-treatment exams related to a Veteran's disability claim for Behavioral Health.
  • Review the Veteran's medical history and abstract relevant information.
  • Guide the Veteran through the web-based Disability Questionnaire's (DBQ's).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Board Certified Psychiatrist (Or) Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology field and must have graduated from Masters, Doctorate, or Post-Doctorate APA Accredited Program.
  • Active, unrestricted license in the State of New York.
  • 2+ years of experience in any clinical setting.
  • Highly organized, self-directed worker with an ability to function in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient level of experience with Microsoft Office applications and strong technical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous VA or compensation exam experience is a plus, but not required.
  • EMR experience a plus, but not required.
Work Environment:

The work environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature. The position is mostly sedentary, but may require occasional standing or walking. Ability to access files, supplies, and equipment is required.
