Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at University Orthopedics.
Salary$65,000 - $80,000 per year
Key ResponsibilitiesTreatment and Patient Care:
Under the guidance of our licensed Physical Therapists, you will work directly with patients to develop and implement personalized treatment plans using various techniques, including exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions.
Documentation and Communication:
You will accurately record patient progress and communicate effectively with Physical Therapists to ensure seamless care delivery.
Essential Functions:
- Observe patients before, during, and after therapy, noting their status and reporting it to the Physical Therapist.
- Assist patients in performing specific exercises as part of their plan of care.
- Treat patients using a variety of techniques, such as massage and stretching.
- Utilize devices and equipment, like walkers, to aid patients.
- Educate patients and family members on post-treatment procedures.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management to meet department needs.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A degree from an APTA-accredited school of physical therapy.
- A valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in the State of RI.
- Previous experience in outpatient orthopedics/musculoskeletal rehab is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Attention to detail.
- Reliability and flexibility to travel to all sites when necessary.
