Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Banquet Captain to join our Food & Beverage - Banquets team at Spire Hospitality. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest services and ensuring the seamless operation of our convention services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Services: Provide outstanding customer service by setting a positive example, promptly addressing guest requests, concerns, and complaints to ensure overall satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: Foster strong working relationships within Food & Beverage, other hotel departments, and function guest hosts.
  • Event Management: Assist in leading and managing all aspects of banquet services and activities.
  • Food and Beverage Preparation: Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of all food and products according to banquet event orders.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in Food & Beverage Banquets procedures and techniques; assist with managing BEO sheets.
  • Room Setup and Maintenance: Inspect function rooms and equipment for cleanliness and maintenance; oversee room setup according to event specifications.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 years' experience in banquets/food & beverage, event management, or related professional area preferred.
  • Certifications: Alcohol Beverage Servers Certification required, Food Handlers Certification required, OSHA certification or equivalent knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Skills: Basic mathematical skills to prepare financial reporting.

Physical Demands:

  • Grasp, lift, carry or transport up to 40 pounds and to operate various food and beverage equipment.
  • Work most of the shift standing and moving about in the banquet and kitchen areas.
