Daily Responsibilities of a Structural Engineer
As a Structural Engineer, your role is pivotal in driving innovative engineering solutions for various projects. Working alongside a talented team, you will engage in meaningful work that impacts community infrastructure.
Your typical responsibilities will include:
- Conducting structural assessments and computations, primarily focusing on commercial and public sector buildings. Experience with tilt-up construction, masonry, and other concrete structures is highly valued.
- Creating and modifying structural blueprints for buildings and related infrastructures.
- Delivering thorough structural evaluations utilizing industry-standard software such as RISA 3D, Ansys, STAAD, and Enercalc. Assisting in the development of construction documentation with AutoCAD and REVIT, while ensuring quality assurance and quality control of plans and calculations.
- Designing Post-Tensioned concrete systems for various applications, including tanks and floor slabs, with prior experience in PT-slab design being advantageous.
- Overseeing and directing structural engineering initiatives that involve municipal and commercial projects utilizing concrete, masonry, steel, and timber materials.
- Acting as a representative for clients, fostering satisfaction and long-term relationships through active participation in business development and marketing efforts centered on building design.
- Engaging with local or national professional organizations related to structural engineering.
